School Activities

DECA (Business Club)

DECA is a national organization for students in high school to learn about leadership and business. I’ve been a member of DECA throughout high school, but this year I’m a leader. We play business related games, organize simulations, bring in guest speakers, and discuss business news. We also compete in competitions about the principles of finance where we are judged by business professionals. I received 1st place in regionals! You can see some photos below!

New Trier Academic Assistance Center

I was selected by the Math and English Departments to tutor and provide academic support to high school students three times a week in Math and English based on strong performance in these courses, inter-personnel skills, and ability to work well with peers. I love working with younger students.

Senior Instructional Leadership Corps

I was selected by my Junior Year English teacher to serve as a student leader and peer mentor in her class and lead activities in the classroom three times a week, including writing assistance, facilitating classroom book discussion, serving as a speech practice partner, and fostering community.

Health Careers Institute at Dartmouth College

I was one of 24 students selected to participate in the Institute. The program provided the opportunity to explore different areas of healthcare by interacting with and learning from healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and research scientists, in various healthcare settings. I worked with a team of three to research and present to the Institute a presentation on CRISPR gene editing technology.

Club Lacrosse and JV Lacrosse at New Trier

In 9th and 10th grade I played JV Lacrosse at New Trier and before that, starting in 3rd grade, I played club lacrosse. I enjoyed the team aspect of a competitive sport.
